Cover your Mouth
"... and there will be absolutely no shouting or running off either." As Carl regained consciousness, he heard a man's voice listing off rules. He was in the back seat of a car, his mind foggy and vision blurred. Time seemed to have no meaning for a while. "Alright, we've arrived. Stick by me, you hear?" The man got out and walked around to open the door for him.
"What's going on?" Carl asked, though the voice that came out was a different tone than expected. He looked around, seeing people in fancy dress walking towards a large building. Everyone was two feet taller than he was. He felt as light as a feather too. As captain of the basketball team in high school, this was an odd experience. He kept looking around until he caught a reflection in a passing window and his eyes grew wide. A little blonde girl was matching his movements stride for stride. He was a girl.
"Help!" Carl started panicking. "This man isn't my father! I..." A large hand grabbed him on the mouth. "Quiet girl. What did I just say? Are we gonna have a problem?" Carl's mind was racing. Who was this man? What was he involved in? Carl began to expect the worst. As the man dragged him into the building, Carl recognized it as the local sports arena. Inside, he saw high schoolers playing a game of basketball through the glass. Suddenly everything clicked.
It turns out the man was the father of a player on a rival basketball team. Carl had humiliated the man's son in front of recruiters for college basketball, so he sought revenge. Carl would now also face the humiliation of losing everything he worked for. And of having to go through puberty again. As a girl.
