Purple Plaid

Chris was recently in a fatal car accident, at least, it was fatal to his body. His brain was undamaged in the collision, but the trauma to his organs was too severe for him to survive. At the same time, a young woman was brought in to the hospital who recently died from a brain aneurysm. The doctors had an idea. If the mind of Chris could be saved by transplanting it into the young woman's body, it could revolutionize medical research going forward. If it didn't work, both were dead anyway. What was there to lose?

When Chris woke up, he was shocked. Not only was he miraculously alive, but his age, height, race, and gender had all changed. It took everything the doctors had to calm him down and keep him in bed. After hours of explaining, days of medical tests, and weeks of psychological evaluations, he was eventually allowed to go home. It was no surprise to anyone that it took so long for Chris to be cleared to go home. He had no way to prepare himself for this new life. A few seconds of distracted driving was all it took, and he went from a short, balding, white man to a tall, young, black woman.

Several months later, Chris was spending the afternoon at the community pool. He was slowly acclimating to his new body, pushing himself to try new things at every opportunity. He was sunbathing in a purple plaid bikini when a familiar voice called out to him. "I never thought I'd be saying this to you, but you look good in a bikini."

Chris looked up to see his friend standing over him. "Thanks. The color seemed nice. I'm surprised it even fit to be honest. These hips are unreal. I feel like my entire pelvis is rotating when I walk."
