Keep Checking

I know you're in there, thought Amy as she looked at the reflection of her new body. She had always been terrified of the idea of being pregnant. So much so in fact that she decided to donate her body at the swap clinic. She was a lesbian with no plans for a family anyway. It was basically like getting sterilized, except now another woman would have the opportunity to make a baby. After talking it over with her own girlfriend, she went through with it.

Amy swapped bodies with a woman named Louise. Her and her husband had been trying for over two years without success. As Amy left the clinic, she smiled knowing she had helped another couple while also able to live worry-free in the body of an infertile woman. However, this feeling of satisfaction didn't last long. Two weeks later, she woke up with a terrible case of morning sickness. Evidently Louise's last night of trying for a baby with her husband was successful.

Amy desperately tried to convince herself it was impossible. Unfortunately, three pregnancy tests probably weren't wrong. She felt such disgust and anger knowing the biological essence of a man had amalgamated with her DNA to create new life inside her, all without her consent. But the papers were already signed, and she had no way back. What would have been a miracle child for her body's former host was now a parasite, slowly feeding off of her for its own means. Amy's girlfriend tried to comfort her, but she didn't want to hear it. She was spending every day in front of the mirror obsessively analyzing her body, watching in terror as her hips grew wider, her breasts filled with milk, and her belly swelled up to accommodate the child of the man who impregnated her.
