Taking Shape
Maisie loosed an arrow to a perfect bullseye in her backyard. Muscle memory acquired, I guess, she thought to herself. Maisie had been secretly switching parts of her body with her classmates in high school. At first, she went for the obvious. Kelly's flat stomach, Enid's shapely rear, Chrissie's enviable chest. But now it was time to gain some life skills without wasting years on practice and training. She took the fingers of the lead guitarist in band class, the legs of a black belt in karate, the heart and lungs of the girl's long-distance running champion, and finally the arms and shoulders of the 1st place winner in the school archery competition. Who needs to win the genetic lottery when you can cheat? I have the perfect body now.
