Working Through It (Part 1)
Stanley woke up in the bedroom of his old apartment with a severe headache. He had no idea how he got here. As his vision regained focus, he saw his friend, Roland, sitting at his bedside. On instinct, he pulled the sheets up over his breasts, not realizing his anatomical changes. "What is happening?" he asked. He noticed his voice sounded completely different, and much higher pitched. His head was still buzzing.
"It's alright," Roland replied. "You're perfectly safe and healthy. The headaches will pass. The doctors just thought a familiar face and familiar environment would make it easier to explain what is going on." Stanley lifted up the sheets and saw the body of a naked woman. It may have been the pressure on his head, but he couldn't quite make the mental connection between the memory of his original body what his eyes currently saw.
"What am I looking at?" he asked softly.
"I.. I don't understand. How am I here? Why is there a woman where I am?" Stand tried sitting up in bed.
"You're actually in the hospital. This room was made to ease the transition. The only way you could survive was to put your brain in a living host, and the only one available was the brain-dead body of the woman who crashed into you."
Stanley just stared blankly at his friend, still clutching the sheets over his naked form.
Roland continued. "I'm sorry. You will have a long adjustment period, but at least you're alive. There's also a psychologist outside who you may want to speak with."
