Countering Stereotypes

Jake was a walking male stereotype. He was fitness fanatic, obsessed with hitting the gym while playing loud rock music; he watched football religiously, throwing a watch party every weekend; he could even shotgun a can of beer in under five seconds. His girlfriend, Sabrina, was essentially his female counterpart. She was quite reserved, moving with closed body language and laughing with nervous energy. They were such polar opposites that their friends thought it would be funny to see how they behaved in each other's bodies.

Rebuilding their daily routines was awkward at first, but as weeks turned to months, it became clear there were some real advantages to this body swap. Jake was constantly adored for being a tough woman who loved football. Sabrina was finally appreciated for showing emotion and sensitivity as a man. The couple found that showcasing male and female stereotypes as the opposite sex was met with welcome appraisal rather than criticism, so they were incentivized to stay as each other.

Jake and Sabrina posed for a photo at the summer pool party, still in each other's bodies. Their friends could easily tell who was who; they still had their old personalities after all. Jake was still a muscular, short-haired, borderline alcoholic, and Sabrina remained as shy and giggly as before, and had started growing her hair out to get her bobcut back. Their new anatomy didn't really change anything, except the dynamics of their love life.
