Tall Mistake
There was a friendly parent-child volleyball game scheduled after the neighborhood BBQ on Saturday, but everything changed when the prize was announced: $200 split among the winning team. A group of boys realized that if they pooled their shares of the winnings, it would be enough to buy the new multiplayer shooter game that just came out. Connor asked his mom to participate since she played volleyball when she was younger, but she declined. With some peer pressure from his friends, he managed to switch bodies with her and just take her place.
"Dude, your mom is so tall!" Lucas said to Connor.
"Six foot five," he high-fived his friend. "There's no way we lose this game now."
"Right? You can probably just reach over the net. You're even taller than the dads on the other team." Unfortunately, the boys' confidence was misplaced. Connor had no muscle memory in volleyball and was not used to moving with such long arms and legs. He fell flat on his face on more than one occasion.

"Well so much that idea," Lucas said after they lost the match. "Sorry we pushed you into this. At least you got to have fun being tall."
"I'm not having that much fun. And I'm already sick of it." Connor wiped the sand off his stomach and legs. He felt uncomfortable wearing his mom's beach volleyball bikini. "Strange men keep looking at me. Little kids keep pointing and staring. I get why my mom always complains about it." Connor was learning the hard way the woes of being a woman, especially one who stands out in a crowd. "But we may have another problem," he continued. "I can't find the amulet to switch back." This whole adventure was appearing to be one tall mistake. The idea of being stuck as his mom was absolutely terrifying. But that was nothing compared to the scolding he would receive from his parents when he returned home.
